Three hours of Continuing Professional Development: delivering valuable insights

The first part of this valuable learning forum consisted of clinical, evidence-driven updates and a refresher of data interpretation skills through case-based learning and interactive polling. In the second part of the morning, attendees participated in two out of three focused workshops, covering HCL for adolescents and young adults, HCL for younger children and the use of CGM in more challenging cases involving children and young people (CYP).

At the time of booking, participants were asked to select their preferred workshops. Those who did not specify their choices were randomly allocated.

  • Workshop 1: CGM and HCL data interpretation for adolescents and young adults (including alcohol and exercise)
  • Workshop 2: CGM and HCL data interpretation in younger children
  • Workshop 3: Utilising CGM data in more challenging CYP: Type 2, basal bolus (non-HCL)

Each workshop offered dedicated time with an expert to work through real-life scenarios, helping attendees to consolidate their practical understanding of data interpretation.

Developed with convenience in mind: participants joined this interactive, online course remotely

Packed with examples of best practice, interactive discussions and practical ‘how-to’ advice, the course provided participants with all the elements needed to engage fully with the day:

  • Meeting each other – with videos and microphones turned on during breakout room sessions
  • Listening and watching presentations and speaker Q&As – in the main course room alongside the session chair
  • Taking part in facilitated interactive sessions – supported by moderators in the breakout rooms
  • Feeding back and engaging – through the chat box and content shared by moderators in the main room

Attendees gained confidence in their data interpretation abilities and left the session inspired to return to their services with a renewed focus on delivering improved, patient-centred care.
