This EXTOD-led research summit will provide a dedicated space for researchers and research clinicians to connect, share learning, and explore how we can collectively move the field forward.

Learning themes

Across the day, you will hear about current and emerging research themes as well as exploring the wider long-term impact of exercise in Type 1 diabetes. This unique forum will present an excellent opportunity for you to identify the evidence gaps and research priorities that matter most to clinicians, patients and the wider community.

EXTOD Research Faculty

This EXTOD Faculty brings together leading researchers, clinicians and educators at the forefront of exercise and Type 1 diabetes research to provide evidence-based insight and practical experience. Through their work, EXTOD aims to remove barriers to safe and effective physical activity for people living with Type 1 diabetes, and to accelerate the translation of research into meaningful clinical and real-world impact.


This summit is a unique opportunity for researchers and clinicians to deepen understanding, shape future studies and strengthen collaboration across the UK research community.

Research priorities

This first-of-its-kind national meeting is designed to strengthen collaboration and accelerate progress in exercise and Type 1 diabetes research. With no dedicated forum currently available in the UK, this event offers a rare opportunity to connect with like-minded researchers, explore emerging fields, and ensure future research is aligned with real-world clinical need.

Share your research

Researchers are invited to submit posters and abstracts, with opportunities to present and discuss your work with your peers from across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity to:


  • Share findings and early-stage ideas
  • Gain feedback from researchers and clinicians
  • Build collaborations and identify future research directions
  • Increase the impact and visibility of your work


Bringing a poster will enable you to share your experiences, successes and stumbling blocks and benefit from even greater interaction and participation.

Once you have booked your place, SBK Healthcare will correspond with you using the email address you provided at the time of booking and you will be sent a formal confirmation. Approximately one week prior to the conference you will be sent an email which will include all the final details for attendance on the day, including a final agenda and venue information.

Registration fees
You will be sent an instant payment option or invoice on registration. Your payment is required in advance. If your fee has not been received prior to the event, and you are not able to provide a PO or proof of payment, you will be asked to make a credit or debit card payment on the day.
 
Modify registration

To let us know if your details are not correct when you have already registered, please email bookings@sbk-healthcare.co.uk.
 
Cancellations and substitutions

A full refund of fees will be made only for cancellations received within the first 48 hours of the booking being made. Notice of cancellation must be received in writing by emailing the bookings team at SBK Healthcare. Should you need to cancel your registration after this date, the registration fee remains payable in its entirety although a substitution will be accepted and conference documentation will be provided. Substitution attendees for delegates unable to attend after registering are acceptable at any time.
 
Conference changes

It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of the conference organisers to alter the content, speakers or the timing of the programme. We will endeavour to keep you abreast of such changes but any unavoidable change to the format will not constitute a reason to refund the fee. Should the event be postponed, we will endeavour to reschedule the event. If, for reasons beyond the control of the conference organiser, the event is cancelled, a full refund will be made. We do not accept any liability for any incurred costs resulting from a postponement or cancellation.
 
Certificate of attendance

A certificate for Continuing Professional Development will be given to every attendee, as a record of continuing professional training and development.
